On May 15, 2024, the minutes of the monthly coordination meeting with the responsible food inspectors in the district and upazila held at the Bangladesh Safe Food Authority, District Office, Manikganj were read and heard.
The president said that public awareness miking and safe food inspectors in distribution of leaflets are required for ensuring safe food.
At this time, the safe food inspectors said that if the budget is increased in miking activities, the scope of activities can be increased.
The president asked to collect the list of various hotels and restaurants in Manikganj district and send it to the district office.
Food safety inspectors said they collect the list and update it regularly.
The president requested the safe food inspectors to continue and strengthen hotel-restaurant, food storage and market monitoring activities to ensure safe food.
The safe food inspectors said that they are always working hard in this work and will provide utmost support to Bangladesh Safe Food Authority, District Office, Manikganj in the monitoring activities.
The President asked to provide full cooperation to the safe food inspectors in identifying, collecting and taking necessary measures for different hazardous food samples from hotels-restaurants, food stores and markets to ensure safe food.
The safe food inspectors told the president that samples of locally produced food such as jelly, mustard oil, chips, pickles, ice lolly, juice and lachi etc. can be collected in different upazilas.
The president said that all food stalls and markets of every upazila should put stickers with complaint numbers, so that consumers can report any complaints directly to the Bangladesh Safe Food Authority. These stickers will be provided by the authorities.
Safe food inspectors will ensure that the sticker is affixed.
